LABCONCO® Protector™ Demonstration Fume Hoods
 
Designed for Classroom Demonstrations Fume Hoods designed specifically to meet the requirements of science/chemistry curriculum in K - 12. The entire enclosure is constructed of tempered safety glass with epoxy-coated aluminum and steel structural channel for 360° visibility of science demonstrations, observations and experiments. Patented containment-enhancing features direct airflow into and through the hood to protect teachers and students from potentially harmful reactions, chemical fumes and vapors. The fume hood connects to a remote blower, house exhaust or a FilterMate™ Portable Exhauster. Specifications: The Fume Hoods are available in 22-3/4" and 32" heights with a deep 23" interior that easily accommodates a variety of apparatus. Exhaust options include from top, bottom or via carbon filtration. FilterMate Portable Exhauster: Designed for use with two carbon filters or one carbon filter and one HEPA filter (filters not included with Fume Hood or Portable Exhauster). Includes 8' of 5" I.D. flexible gray polypropylene hose, two clamps, a 4.88" O.D. lower transition adaptor for connection to bottom of fume hood and an IED three-wire electrical cord with plug. Airflow potential: 200cfm. Dimensions: 22.7"H x 14.9"W x 23"D. Lower Transition Adaptor accommodates 5" I.D. hose.
FilterMate Filters: Two filters are required for the FilterMate Portable Exhauster. Organic Carbon Filter is suitable for organic solvents including acetone, ethyl acetate, toluene and xylene. Use the Formaldehyde Carbon Filter for vapors from formaldehyde. The Ammonia Carbon Filter is suitable for ammonia and low molecular weight amines.
Cart for Demonstration Fume Hood: Glacier white epoxy-coated tubular steel with black 1"-thick, solid epoxy dished work surface, handle bar, bottom shelf and 3"-dia. toe-locking casters. Supports loads up to 400 lbs. Fluorescent Light for Demonstration Fume Hood: Rest atop the enclosure to provide illumination of the interior. Include auxiliary electrical receptacle with switch. 115V, 60 Hz, 10A operation. Remote Blower for Demonstration Fume Hood: 1/4 hp direct drive motor. Corrosion-resistant, phenolic-coated steel housing and wheel. Blower inlet is 5.94" O.D. Outlet dimensions: 4.25" x 7.38" O.D.
