often do you ship into Canada?
A: LSS ships into Canada every business day.
Q: Does
LSS have a distributor in Canada?
A: LSS ships from Janesville, Wisconsin, not a
Canadian distributor, but we do alleviate the problems of dealing
with Customs. LSS will take care of all Customs documentation and
clear single or multiple shipments for only $11.00 CAD per order.
Q: Can I
pay for my order in Canadian currency using a credit card?
A: LSS can accept payment in Canadian or U.S. dollars
on VISA and MasterCard credit cards. Payment on Discover and American
Express cards must be in U.S. dollars.
Q: What does Consolidated
Shipping mean?
A: Consolidated Shipping moves a group of packages
into Canada as one shipment rather than multiple shipments. This
reduces clearance costs. Most shipments to Canada can be consolidated and arrive at your door in 4-5 business days.
Q: Do you provide NAFTA
certificates?
A: Yes, for all products that qualify.
Q: Can LSS
calculate shipping charges when I place my order?
A: Your LSS Customer Service Representative can
calculate freight charges for all orders except standard routing
orders.
Q: How do hazardous
items or materials ship?
A: Hazardous items or materials can be shipped
by Federal Express Priority or Fed National. Your Customer Service
Representative can calculate freight charges when you place your
order. Because LSS Consolidated Shipping does not clear hazardous
shipments, you must provide your own broker for these shipments.
Q: What
if a product doesn’t work out as expected?
A: You can return it. With our Consolidated Returns
program, returns are consolidated in Etobiocoke, Ontario through
UPS. From there, LSS will handle all shipping back to the USA to make it as hassle-free for you as possible.
Q: When can I talk to
an LSS Technical Support Specialist?
A: You can talk to our Technical Support staff
before you make a purchasing decision, or anytime after you have
made your purchase. LSS Technical Support staff is on-call Monday
through Friday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m (CT). You can send an e-mail
at any time, day or night; you’ll always receive an answer
within one business day.
Q: Why am I asked to
provide end user and final destination information?
A: For security reasons, U.S. export control regulations
require this information from any company exporting goods. LSS strives
to make the ordering process as easy and smooth as possible for
our Canadian customers, while still complying with applicable regulations.
Q: Where does my shipment
start out?
A: Except for some drop-ship products that ship
directly from the manufacturer, all shipments originate from our
warehouse in Janesville, Wisconsin.
Q: What
about charges other than the $11.00 CAD Customs Clearance fee?
A: Your Customer Service Representative will itemize
any other export charges and taxes associated with your order so
that you won’t get any surprises when your invoice arrives.
Q: What about GST?
A: GST is applied on all orders for which LSS is the importer
of record. Your Customer Service representative
will include this in a summary of all charges associated with your
order.
Q: What
about HST (Harmomized Sales Tax)?
A: Three provinces, New Foundland, Nova Scotia
and New Brunswick, require a provincial tax be charged
in addition to the standard GST tax. LSS
can only collect this tax for the customer if LSS has been designated
as the Importer of Record.
Q: What
about PST?
A: LSS does not collect PST tax.
Q: What if I am GST
exempt?
A: Verify your exempt status by faxing a copy of
your certificate with your Customer ID number to 1-608-757-4740.
